    Setup Context

What is the system, where does it run, and whom does it affect?

Records, once, what the AI system is, where it operates and whom it affects, so the modules that follow share one context.

    Open in the platform
A desk globe with pins. Point at it.

    What it does

You enter the domain, problem and output type, automation level, jurisdictions, protected attributes and stakeholders. A generative system also declares its grounding sources and language, which switches on the checks for grounded answers.

    Why it matters

This step formally initiates the fairness assessment by defining the system under review, its intended use, and the organizational mandate for assessing fairness. It establishes accountability, clarifies which decisions and populations are in scope, and documents success criteria, ensuring fairness is treated as a governed obligation rather than an optional analysis.
